JOURNEY BEGINS

The Journey Begins is a twelve-session introduction to the road less traveled which is...

Your family history and significant life events

The road you are on now and your strategies for coping with life and what you believe about yourself

The road ahead of you and choosing to embrace change to pursue the life you imagine

This experience promises you a new depth of knowledge regarding yourself, your relationship with God, and where you want to walk with Jesus and others in the future.

Man Hiking in Nature

JOURNEY CONTINUES

The Journey Continues builds a deeper connection to your story, with a closer examination of how you hold your story inside of you. Using a full-body outline, you write about:

Themes of honesty

(naming what has happened with integrity)

Repentance

(feeling and owning past and current pains)

Loving boldly

(embracing new kinds of freedom in how we relate with others and God)

Referring to your outline, your share what you wish with your group. The twelve sessions will take your ability to sit with others in a small group environment to the next level, add clarity to events of your story and invite you to meet with God in new ways.

CREATING SPACE FOR CARE

Through The Lens of the Prodigal

Luke 15 -  We are created for the return and the repair.  Vs 7: “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine ‘just persons’ who need no repentance.”  Vs 10: Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Vs 32: “It was right that we should we make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.”

We, as prodigals, want to offer new sandals that represent a re-grounding as we enter stories.  We want to offer a new robe that represents a re-clothing after stories of shame are entered. We want to offer a ring that represents a new belonging that can take place when we have witnesses to our stories of trauma.  We want to create a banquet table where we are safe to tell the unedited truth and not be judged; where we get the honor to sit in a sacred land where few, if any, have been trusted to enter and where grief and heartache are entered and a new hope through connection is offered. Lament is welcomed at this table. Lament opens the door for repair. Lament is the willingness to be connected to our hearts, the ability to be real and human. Everyone is welcome to come to the banquet.

Only the prodigal puts himself in a place to receive care and celebration.
